Narragansett Bay Fly Fishing and Light Tackle Charter Guides in Rhode Island. |

My name is Capt. Greg Snow and I would be honored to guide you on the light tackle charter fishing adventure of a lifetime. The Rhode Island fishing charters season starts in in early May as the striped bass shoot up Narragansett Bay to hunt for herring and bunker where we will be waiting for them. The fly fishing and topwater light tackle fishing in Narragansett Bay during May and June can be epic! When the conditions are right 30 or 40 fish on light tackle per charter are commonplace. Spring fishing on Narragansett Bay is hard to beat. Come the end of June I am lucky enough to relocate Snowfly Charters out on Block Island. For those that are not familiar with fishing Block Island you are in for a real treat. Mid-June through October is the best time to charter fish Block Island. Some of the most pristine and uncrowded waters surround Block Island. The island is known for it's BIG striped bass. The state record striper of 71 pounds caught on the south side of Block Island still holds. There are always chomper bluefish to be had around Block island. Bluefish will destroy topwater plugs as well as jump and pull like crazy. Block Island is the place to be if you like fishing in Rhode Island.
If you like tuna like I do then Block Island
is as good a starting point as anywhere in Rhode Island.
The juvenile blue fin tuna show up first, generally the first part of
July, but you never know. The bonito are not far behind and then
the false albacore. All of these fish are a blast on a fly or
light spinning rod. I will also make runs in the fall to fish
Montauk, the "Race" at fishers Island, Watch Hill, and Point Judith,
Rhode Island. Please contact me with any questions about
customizing a trip. I'll see you on the boat!
We can take a maximum of 4 people. For the latest fishing report go to www.tidalfish.com Goto New England Report

Bones on Block Island are a welcome sight after a chilly easterly that sent the big bass packing. Don't get me wrong, there are still stripes here but they are a different group of fish that happen to be significantly smaller. The past month and a half has been the best bass fishing I've seen on BI in ten years. The only sour note is all the big stripers I saw being killed purely as ego boosters. The Bonito are racing through the rips and tide lines chewing on squid and sand eels. They are showing very little so you have to put your time in and I'm sure you'll be rewarded. Albies are next and if it is even a fraction of last seasons run it's gonna be screamer! Tight Lines...Capt Greg Snow |
